I have always had a passion for retro gaming. I grew up in a Nintendo household and have been playing side-scrolling platformers, RPGs, and beat ’em ups for as long as I can remember. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve continued to enjoy these classics and have been building my retro collection to relive the past as it was meant to be.
As such, I have been thinking for a long time about how to share this joy with other people. Enter The 8-bit Basement! I’ve created this space to celebrate my love of gaming and explore the rich history of video games, from the days of coin-op games and Atari to the modern day. Those who know me know that gaming is one of my biggest passions. I’ve been playing video games for over 30 years and I have no desire to stop. I want to grow my passion and I want as many people as possible to join me on this adventure.
I’ll be posting regularly here about all kinds of gaming related things in my life including:
- Thoughts and musings about the current games I’m playing, both old and new
- Showing off my backlog and asking for suggestions on what games I should check out
- Sharing my collection, including the items I’m hunting for or have recently acquired.
